2125年，为了寻找新的能源（人口爆炸到一百来亿了），太阳系开发机构决定推进“木星太阳化计划”，定于2140年实现这一计划。驻扎在前线基地“米涅瓦”的计划主任本田英二（三浦友和）就在这时候与失去联系多年的恋人马利亚重逢了，但是他不知道的是，玛丽亚是旨在破坏这一计划的极端环保组织“木星教团”的破坏小组组长！ 在宇宙语言学家威廉姆的帮助下，英二乘坐木星探查艇“JADE－III”探访了数万年前来访的宇宙人的飞船“木星之魂”。 另一方面，英二的朋友PILOT KING和天文学家井上乘坐的宇宙船遇难，调查的结果，是遭遇黑洞所致！太阳系面临被黑洞吞噬的危机！ 解决危机的方法只有一个，通过引爆木星来改变黑洞的轨道（剧组在这个问题上花了很大的精力，甚至动用了计算机做考证和计算工作）。英二与基地内人员一起为挽救太阳系而努力的时候，玛利亚带人杀进了基地。。。。。。Set between Hong Kong, London and Frankfurt, this is the intimate portrait of five women working in the highest spheres of finance.
