王初四（陈松伶饰）自幼生长在渔村，为反抗土豪逼婚，遂相约青梅行马恋人曾牛（林利饰）私奔，不料中途发生变故，初四误以为牛已罹难，只好只身来到上海谋生。期间，幸得卖糖女郎李小翠（陈佩珊饰）收容，暂栖于天台木屋中，认识了李大婶（卢宛茵饰）、赵少奇（莫镇贤饰）等好友，未几更与画家杜梓枫（郑伊健饰）坠入爱河。 其后，初四偶然投身影坛，更名为王云裳，以歌艺轰动上海。此际，牛突然现身，初四惊讶不已，既难忘往日之情，又不舍身边所爱，顿感一片迷惘。然而，最苦恼的却是，这时初四又被诬陷进一宗官非之中，似乎难脱牢狱之灾……。A traveling cellist gets involved with two disturbed sisters on their way to Seattle to tell their mom that their dad has just passed away. On the way, the two kill a judge and a few others unknown to the cellist. Eventually he gets pinned for the crimes and is forced to defend himself.。
